We need more volunteers — and if that’s you, we’d love you on the team.
Why volunteer here?
This isn’t paperwork for the sake of it. When you volunteer with Muirhouse and Flemington Community, you’re helping real neighbours — families, kids, older residents, and anyone who wants to feel part of something positive in our streets.
You’ll meet people, build skills, put something good back into the area, and see the difference at events like our Community Fest, family fun days, walks and runs, and everyday community support.
Who we’re looking for
Honest answer: we need more volunteers. Whether you’ve never volunteered before or you’ve been helping for years, there’s a place for you.
- New to volunteering? Perfect. We’ll find a role that fits your time and confidence — no experience required.
- Already a volunteer? Thank you — and if you can take on a bit more, bring a friend, or try a new role, that helps us grow.
- Short on time? Even a few hours at an event makes a huge difference.
- Got a skill? Organising, welcoming people, photography, social media, setup/pack-down, stewarding, baking, translating, DIY — we can use it.
What you might help with
- Community events and festivals (setup, welcome desk, activities, clear-up)
- Family fun days, walks, runs and local celebrations
- Spreading the word — posters, social posts, chatting to neighbours
- Supporting groups and activities that keep Muirhouse and Flemington connected
- Behind-the-scenes help that keeps everything running smoothly
